SEATBELT USAGE:

A safety belt was believed to be used at the time of the collision.

ALCOHOL/DRUG INVOLVED:

Unknown at the time.

NARRATIVE:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on July 7th at 2137 hours, Deputies were dispatched to 59th st and Baseline Road in Geneva township for a report of a red car on its roof, well off the road. When first responders arrived on scene they located a deceased male in the vehicle. Investigation into the crash showed that the driver was westbound on Baseline road when his vehicle went off the road. It was found that the vehicle collided with a wooden bridge rail, launched into the trees, and overturned. The vehicle eventually came to a rest with the front of the vehicle facing the opposite direction. The investigation into this crash is ongoing. Deputies were assisted at the scene by South Haven Area Emergency Services and Mikes Towing.
