All injured parties were from the Suburu involved.

21 year old male Richland, MI-Critical

24 year old female Marysville, MI-Critical

21 year old female Kalamazoo, MI-Stable

23 year old male Kalamazoo, MI-Stable


Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on 7/1/2019 at approximately 1106hrs Deputies were dispatched to the 52 mile marker on I94 for a 4 car personal injury traffic crash with multiple individuals entrapped in the vehicles and fuel leaking from one vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies immediately started rending first aid too two critical patients pinned in the Suburu, one of them in and out of consciousness. There was a Ford Van overturned on its side and was blocking both lanes of traffic, a Suburu was in the ditch with severe front and rear end damage, a Cadillac had rear end damage, and a fourth vehicle was found 100+ yds away in the ditch stuck on a culvert. The only injuries were found to be located inside the Suburu. Based on the severity of the injuries AirCare was immediately put on standby and launched to the scene for transport, as well as multiple agencies dispatched for assistance. Once Fire and EMS arrived on more life saving techniques were administered and extrication tools utilized. The 21yr old male occupant was transported via AirCare to Bronson Methodist for further treatment and the 24yr old female was taken by ambulance. Once all patients were treated and accounted for Deputies continued to investigate the crash scene. The crash is stull currently under investigation and is being reconstructed with the assistance of the Michigan State Police. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
