Operating a vessel with a blood alcohol level greater than .08

Operating with person in tow after hours


Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that Marine Deputies were on routine patrol on the waters of Rush Lake in Hartford Township. Deputies stopped a vessel that was operating with a person in tow after regulated hours. During the stop it was found that the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The vessel operator was subsequently arrested and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail. The vessel was safely turned over to a male friend of the suspect who was not under the influence. There were 2 additional passengers on board the vessel. The name of the vessel operator is being withheld pending arraignment.
