The initial investigation found that the cycle was being ridden by a 68-year-old male driver and 51-year-old female passenger. The driver lost control of the cycle in a curve causing it to run off the roadway and eject both riders. Both riders sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. The driver was not wearing a helmet, but the passenger was.
