Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on November 27th, 2018 at 1820 hours, Officers from South Haven Police Department and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s department were dispatched to the South Haven Hospital for a 28 Year old female who had been dropped off with a gunshot wound to her leg by an unknown male.

South Haven PD was able to interview the victim and obtain a suspect description and vehicle that he was driving. While interviewing the victim, SHPD also made contact with the suspect via telephone. The victim advised that her and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument and he hit her with a shotgun and then shot her in the ankle. The suspect eventually returned to the hospital and was taken into custody in the parking lot of the South Haven hospital without any incident. The suspect was lodged at the Van Buren County Jail on an outstanding warrant and for assault with intent to commit murder and felony firearm.
