Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports on the date of 11/11/2018 at approximately 2300hrs, Deputies were dispatched to the area of 41st Street and 24th avenue, in Bloomingdale Township, for a report of subjects possibly poaching deer. A caller reported a truck in the area shining a light into the fields and hearing a gun shot.

Deputies were checking the area and located a truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle, parked in a driveway of a residence. Upon making contact at the property, Deputies found 3 subjects actively field dressing a deer in a barn. A loaded rifle was also located in the cab of the truck in the driveway. It was determined that they had just shot the deer from the truck using artificial lighting and brought it back to the residence.

A Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer responded to the scene to assist after the initial investigation. The deer and the firearm were confiscated by the DNR.
