Location: County Road 657 and 66th Ave, Antwerp Township, Van Buren County, Michigan
Vehicle 1: Red 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 four door.
Driver Vehicle 1: 41-year-old male from Lawton
Passenger Vehicle 1: 37-year-old female from Lawton
Vehicle 2: Gray 2009 Honda Civic
Driver Vehicle 2: 22-year-old male from Lawton
Passenger Vehicle 2: None
Injuries: The driver of vehicle 2 was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Daniel Abbott reports that Van Buren County Uniform Response Division was dispatched to the intersection of County Road 657 and 66th Ave for a two-vehicle accident with possible entrapment and injuries. When Officers arrived on scene the driver of vehicle two a Gray Honda Civic was on its passenger side leaning against a power pole with the driver still in the vehicle. The driver and passenger of vehicle one a Red GMC Sierra were not injured and standing outside of their vehicle.
Emergency crews were able to free the driver of the Gray Honda Civic and he was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injures.
After conducting the investigation and talking to a witness it was found that Vehicle two was traveling east on 66th ave when the driver ran the stop sign. Vehicle one was traveling south on CR 657 and collided with vehicle two in the intersection and they came to rest against the power pole. Power was out to some residents in the area for a short period of time however quickly restored. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
