Nature of Incident: Single Vehicle Personal Injury Crash with entrapment

Date & Time: Monday, January 22, 2018 @ 1700 hours
Location: 20000 Block of 27th St, Pine Grove Township
Sheriff Daniel E Abbott reports that upon Monday, January 22nd, Deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of 27th street in Pine Grove Township on a report of a single vehicle rollover crash with entrapment. Deputies arrived on scene and found a black Lincoln sedan that had went off the roadway and crashed into a patch of trees. The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside of the vehicle and was the only occupant. Due to the severity of the wreckage, it took rescue crews approximately 1.5 hours to safely remove the driver. The driver was transported by Life EMS to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment to his injuries. After the driver was removed, investigating deputies were able to locate drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Drugs are suspected to be a contributing cause of the accident which remains under investigation.

Suspect: 30 year old male from the Gobles area. Name being withheld pending further investigation.
Charges: No charges filed at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.
