Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel Abbott reports that Deputies were on patrol in the area of County Road 687 and County Road 376 in Bangor Township when they observed a driver commit a traffic violation and then stopped the vehicle.  As Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle they were able to develop information that various drugs were inside the vehicle and a vehicle search was conducted.  Deputies were able to recover over 100 ecstasy pills that were being transported from Indiana to an outdoor music festival in Bangor Township.  Deputies also located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine from another passenger. This individual was on felony probation in Indiana for distribution of methamphetamine. Deputies then arrested the two passengers for the drug charges along with alcohol in the vehicle and lodged them at the jail pending arraignment.  The driver of the vehicle was released at this time pending a continued investigation into the situation.  Additional charges may be sought at a later time.  The case is still under investigation and upon completion will be forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office for review.
